Boy oh boy! Where do I even begin? A lot has been happening in the past few weeks, which has set me back when it comes to my work. As some of you may know, I was suppose to post something new yesterday which changed to today. I had a post on a particular topic but I felt it wouldn't be right for me to post on it when I'm in a different place mentally at the moment. I wanted to give you something that is real and honest.
This industry is full of twists and turns, ups and downs etc, but all in all, I truly love it. I'm enjoying what I'm doing, which is important for me. I'm also working on my 'brand' as they say, in order to open myself up to new and more opportunities. My training studio Sans Group (www.sansgroup.co) is growing, slowly but surely. I put in a lot of effort into it. I am grateful for all the people who support me and the work I do. It makes all the sleepless nights worth it.
With all the work, interviews and meetings happening, you can get so caught up in the grind and miss out on family, friends, alone time, your relationship with God, just to name a few. Last week, I went and watched my niece (she's 2 years old) in this creche play kinda thing, and it was probably like 30mins long and she was on stage for like 5mins, but that moment I spent with my sister and brother in law just watching, recording and smiling together was so profound, on my drive back I was amazed at how one small event like that can have such a positive impact on me.
Like I said, a lot has been happening and I dont even know if this post has structure or whatever...BUT... What I would like for you to get out of this post is the following:
No matter what it is you're going through at work, at school, any where for that matter... let's not get caught up in the mess and forget the little things that make us happy, like getting a kiss on your forehead from your mom or grandma... let's make sure that whilst we hare hustling and busting ourselves in order to advance in life, we are also making sure we are spending time with our loved ones... and all that needs is prioritizing. This isn't just for you, but for me as well, let us prioritize our lives.
(P.S. There's no picture for this post just a smiley face)
